A sculptural vase inspired by bulbs, vegetables and pods.

This vase is burnished before being smoke fired, creating a rich, unpredictable surface with natural variations in colour, markings and tone. The smoke-firing process means that no two pieces are ever quite the same, with the final finish emerging from the interaction between the clay, smoke and firing environment.
This is a decorative vessel designed to be enjoyed as a sculptural object in its own right. Due to the nature of the smoke-firing process, it is not watertight and should not be used to hold water. It is also not food safe.
Each Bulb Vase is handmade by me in my studio, so slight variations in shape, surface and colour are part of what makes each one unique.
